
Popping Off: The 4th is a time to reflect on our America
Holidays are kinda like birthdays, and none more than the Fourth of July, when Americans actually celebrate the birth of their nation.
Yes, Tuesday will be a day of celebration for many, as Independence Day often is used as an excuse to party, overeat and light fireworks. It's OK. Life's tough. Go ahead, enjoy the fireworks and whatever it is you're cooking over an open flame.
But first, let's do for the country what most of us do as individuals when our birthdays roll around. You know, that moment of reflection you have every year about how things are going in your life. You might worry about the direction your life has taken or feel good about being on the right track, whatever that may be for you.
