Life Changing Quotes 4

The work goes on,
the cause endures,
the hope still lives and
the dreams shall never die.

~Ted Kennedy

Email Etiquette At Work

Computer Keyboard

Do you sometimes send an email to a coworker you regret ? We have all done this at least once. Hey, you live and learn and move one. To avoid such email, everyone should practice basic email etiquette at work.

Email Etiquette At Work:

1. You can't hide behind your email

Our email is only one form of communication. If we don't get a response, then we should not expect the worst of the receiver. I've deleted a few email by mistake in my lifetime. Pick up the phone and call your coworker or walk over to there cubicle and talk with them if possible.

2. Less is more

Keep it short and sweet. You don't need to tell your life story. We come to our jobs to work on interesting projects not to read long, boring and inflammatory emails. Get to the point.

3. Ask a questions

Asking a question will get a direct and concise answer. It will also avoid sending numerous email back and forth. Did you ..... ? Yes . Done

4. Save the Drama

Your email is no place for being a drama king or queen. If you are replying to an email based solely on emoting, then you are doomed. Seriously, an email could serve as evidence against you when it's time for review. Just walk over 10 feet to your coworker and have talk about your misunderstanding of the situation. Better yet go for a walk and cool off first. The walk will help you generate more analytical solutions to the unpleasant, annoying, or confusing email than replying to your coworker they are an idiot.

5. Look before you leap

Check your spelling and grammar before you send that professional sounding email. Also you might be working on task that you are in your flow and replying to that email will make you loose your priceless concentration. Don't act on impulse;rather, stop and think, is that email more important than what I am currently doing and then reply later if possible.

These tips you will help you learn or improve your email etiquette at work.

What tips do you have on managing emails ?

Tips for going green at work

Do you want to save the earth but your busy at work ? You may not have to choose. Some times when I leave, I notice that a light is left on in an empty conference room,so I turned it off.Going green is easier than we think. Everyone has to do their part.If we don't what will we leave behind for our kids and their kids?

Green tips to save the planet at work

1. Recycle
Most workplace have recycling containers;use them.

2. Turn it off
We should try to turn off anything that can be turned off when it is not being used. That includes gadgets, lights and a radio your coworker forgot to turn off.

3. Don't print email
Printing email may not be necessary. This practice waste paper, ink, and electricity.Alternatively, you could create a folder on your computer and save those emails and attachments you need to save.

4. Use Electronic calenders
If you are using non electronic planners and want to save the planet, then you should consider using an electronic version. At the end of the year, those planner contribute to our already massive landfills. Most email carrier such as Gmail and Yahoo provide free online calenders. Use them. Of course if you have Outlook available at work use it as well. Or better yet if you have a Blackberry or other PDA use their calenders.

5. Reuse
In some offices there are water coolers and coffee makers that come with disposable cups.If you reusing those cup then your footprint on the earth will leave less of an indent.

Work is more restrictive than being at home, but it does offer you opportunities to go green and contribute to saving the planet.Actually work is what you make of it.

Life Changing Quotes 2

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.

~Nelson Mandela

Fast ways to lose weight without exercise

Are you trying to get healthy but don't have the time to exercise ? It is not impossible. Following these tips will help you get there. If these tip worked for me then they can work for anybody.

1. Eat less
If we eat less food, then we have less to burn. This takes some time to getting used to,but I think I found a trick. Splitting up your lunch(other meals as well) into two portion is a good way to start. You eat one portion now and later(usually 2 hours later).I am at the point that I sometimes don't eat the second half because I am full or just too busy working.

2. Walk don't drive
This method will help you save gas. Walk to the corner store instead of driving. There is so much to see in your hood that you will never experience cruising in your hybrid car (everyone has to do their part).

3. Sleep more
Research has proven that the more we sleep the less we eat. This makes sense because if we are sleeping then we will not be eating (unless you sleep walk and eat...scary).Get your snooze on to shed your unwanted weight.

4. Reject Comfort food
We all have craving, but we must resist.Comfort food sneak up on us because they are within our grasp. Some may say that you only live once,so we should eat whatever we feel like eating. They are right that we live only once so let us live it as healthy as possible.Okay, drop the chips and step away from the Big Mac.

5. Drink more water
Eight cups a day will keep the fat away. Really, when you drink a lot of water it fills you up and as a result you eat less and move more (no explanation needed here). Try drinking at least one cup water before every meal ,and you will see the difference. Also replacing soda and healthy (sugary) 100 percent juices with water will add less fat to your corners.

6. Walk to the copy machine
For the office rats,me included,we need to move more in the office. Simple things like printing to a printer not close to you or walking over to a coworker's desk could help you shed those love handles. Every step counts(really).

7. Eat a heavy breakfast
Our moms were and still right, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating a good breakfast will keep us going for the first part of the day.I once read a study that showed when obese people eat a heavy breakfast overtime they lost weight. When we don't eat breakfast we tend to overeat at lunch because we are SO HUNGARY. A hungry person is an angry person. In these times ,we should come to work calm. Listen to mom and eat your breakfast.

8. Eat a light dinner
Since we will not move much after dinner then it may be a good idea to eat light. I avoid rice for dinner. If I must eat late, then try to eat fruits or cereal.Sometimes I break this rule but hey I am human;I not perfect. However,we should try to be good most of the time.

9. Eat the right foods
I don't think we need to spend too time here.A rule of thumb is anything that has a lot of ingredients, is fast and cheap may not be the right food.If your still not sure read food labels (if available). You should also start cooking at home(this also saves money).

10. Eat in small containers
Its been proven that if we use small containers we eat less. This make sense because we feel guilty to take seconds and thirds (just try it).

Doing any or all of these tips will help you loose weight and stay fit and best of all no exercise required.

Top 6 Motivation Hacks

frighten storm wave"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no help at all."
~Dale Carnegie

Do you sometimes lose motivation to get it done ? Been there done that and came back. We all have have motivational highs and lows. But getting a boost always helps. Junk food may keep us going by that is only temporary. Being motivative could keep you going on and on and on until we change the world. Or at least complete our task at hand.

Motivational Hacks:

1.Thinks positive.
Don't be your own worst enemy. You are brilliant, creative, and smarter that you could ever imagine. Don't doom yourself by thinking or using word that are negative to describe you. You have more talents and skills than you think. Be positive. If you don't think good about yourself ,than who will. Start in your own backyard.

2.Throw you entire heart into it.
If it is worth doing then do it well. No one is perfect but we could strive for it. Do it whole hearted.

3.Reward yourself
When you accomplish something BIG then rewarding yourself is a good motivator. Delayed gratification is good but if your are in a slum then just do it.Buy that affordable (LWYM-live within your means) gift for yourself that will keep you going.

4.Start
It is amazing the power that start has. When we beginning a difficult task, we naturally develop a mysterious work flow that keeps us going. You will never taste the sweetness of the flow if you never start. Get off you couch and start that project NOW.

5. Reflect on difficult times
We don't have it as bad as we think. Remembering that will definitely keep us going. At one time we were broke and unemployed and now we have a job and income and a decent place to stay but we are still complaining. The glass is half filled. Complaining and criticizing will lower our motivation. Friends don't let friends criticize.

6.Read Quotes
Quotes have a way of changing our moods. "You must do the things you think you can not do" by Elenore Roosevelt will help us to look fear in the eye and over come it. As a result, our motivation we go through the roof. Seriously, life changing quotes give us the boost we sometimes need when we are down and out on our motivation juice.

Enjoying your job

office cubicleDo you always enjoy your job? Of course not.
Why not ?
There are day where everyone would like to be somewhere else other than work. Today, we will discuss some ways to make your job more enjoyable.

We spend most of our waking hours working. I am not only talking to office rats, I am one of them, some of us work at home and some of us are work at home parents (personally I think this is the most rewarding job). We should at least try to enjoy our daily grind. If we do, then it will be less like work and more like our life. But becoming ultra a workaholic is NOT what I am promoting here. Being balanced is the key to happiness and longevity. BE BALANCED!

Here we go…..

Enjoying Your Job

1. Have a plan
The more we manage our time at work the less stressed we are. The less stressed we are the more creative we are. The more creative we the more relaxed we are. The more relaxed we are the more we will enjoy our jobs.

2. Eat out on Mondays
A lot of people celebrate the ending of the week and end up hating Mondays. Why not delay our gratification for only 2 days more and Monday will not suck as much.

3. Get out of your cubicle
There is a world outside of our cube. I sometime forget this myself (shame on me). Staying glued to your cubicle will cause you to hate your job. Get out of your cube and the solution you have been pounding your head against your desk will come to you. Getting away from your cube will free your mind. Doing so might also help you solve problems from a different angle.

4. Love it
Have you found yourself working on an interesting problem and end up losing track of time? This has happen to me on many occasions. WHAT A RUSH! Finding pleasure in your job will definitely make it more enjoyable. If you find yourself looking at the clock every 30 minutes, then you may have a problem. Maybe it is time to do some soul searching?

5. Enjoy a good book
For those of you who travel to work, reading or listen to a book will make your trip more pleasurable. Starting your day with a great book could make the rest of your day amazingly pleasant. When I am not taking classes, I consume a book in a week. I will review some of these books in later posts.

6. Learn something new
Learning something new will keep your work interesting. If you are a HR guru then find software that will help you become more efficient. There are a slew of technologies available both online and off line; use them to make your life easier. Stop using a pad and pencil to do everything. You don’t have to thank me now for this suggestion but you will later. Seriously, technology makes our lives more organized, simplified, and energized.

Get out there and have some fun today.
