Phishing prevention

As per Spamfighter.com, “over 5 million consumers in the United States lost cash due to phishing assaults over a 12-month period ending in September 2008, resulting in a 39.8% rise from the preceding 12 months. Basically all that mean is that Phishing is getting worst and that anyone could become a victim.To protect ourselves for phishing we have to first understand what it is.

What is Phishing ?
Phishing is a method used by criminals to mislead us into thinking we are submitting our private data to legitimate organizations such as banks.

How to protect yourself ?
Most if not all organizations will never ask us to verify out user names and password via a email. Knowing this will save us a lot of money and potential headache. If you are not sure about a creepy email call the organization that sent it to you. I am sure they will thank you for doing so.When in doubt always delete fishy emails. If it was that important your bank will contact you.
